MALE INFERTILITY
The evaluation of male infertility should always be done by an urologist specialized in andrology.
Male infertility can be caused by:
- Hormone imbalances
- Testicular problems
- Defects of tubules and organs that transport sperm
HORMONE IMBALANCES
This group of disorders can result from the testicles themselves, or from an abnormality affecting other hormonal systems including the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid and adrenal glands.
TESTICULAR PROBLEMS
Sperm production disorders and obstructions in the ducts in the testicle are the causes arising from the testicle itself.
DEFECTS OF TUBULES AND ORGANS THAT TRANSPORT SPERM
Many different tubes in male reproductive system carry sperms. Congenital or acquired obstructions in the tubes or organs that allow sperm to be expelled from the testicles may prevent sperm from reaching the semen.
